Early game

The moment Saturn is unlocked, Tethys (Assassination, General Sargas Ruk) is the fastest reliable Orokin Cell source: it’s a short, repeatable boss fight rather than an endless mission, so a fresh account can farm it on-repeat without needing a levelled-up squad or a long survival/defense grind. Sargas Ruk’s Orokin Cell drop chance is high enough that most runs return at least one, and the mission length (a couple of minutes once the boss room is reached) keeps the farm efficient even solo.

If Tethys’ rewards are running dry on a given day, the general Grineer tileset on Ceres, Jupiter, Pluto and Sedna also drops Orokin Cells from regular enemies and containers, so any mission on those planets is a secondary source while working toward Steel Path.

Mid & late game

Once a squad can comfortably run Steel Path, Gabii on Ceres (Dark Sector Survival) becomes the best per-hour source. Dark Sector missions carry an intrinsic +35% resource drop chance bonus on top of the Steel Path resource-drop passive, and stacking a Resourceful Retriever pet mod or a Resource Drop Chance Booster on top of that compounds further — unlike container/deposit farms, enemy-drop-based Orokin Cell sources fully benefit from boosters and drop-chance buffs. A loot-frame (Nekros, Khora, Hydroid) in the squad meaningfully increases yield per rotation by re-rolling extra enemy drop tables.

Longer Steel Path Survival or Disruption runs on the same planets (Jupiter, Pluto, Sedna) are a solid alternative if Gabii’s matchmaking or tileset isn’t available, since Orokin Cells drop from the general Grineer/Corpus enemy tables on all of them — Gabii is simply the highest-density option because of the Dark Sector bonus.
