Deimos — Terrorem (Survival)
Mutagen Sample is a Deimos regional drop — the wiki classes it “uncommon” on Deimos (vs “rare” elsewhere), making Deimos the best sustained source. Farm any endless Infested node — Terrorem (Survival) or Hyf (Defense) — or Cambion Drift bounties/free roam, killing in bulk. These are in-mission enemy/tileset pickups, so a Resource Drop Booster and the Steel Path resource passive DO boost them. No Deimos yet? Eris — Naeglar (Hive Sabotage) drops a Rotation-B cache (~15.5% for 3) as a quest-free fallback.

Deimos — Terrorem (Survival, Steel Path)
Steel Path Deimos scales the same regional farm: denser, tankier Infested drop more samples per minute, and the Steel Path Resource Drop Chance Booster stacks on the in-mission pickups. For guaranteed bulk instead, run the Eris Sabotage caches (Naeglar/Candiru/Lepis/Psoro/Viver, Rotation B ~15.5% for 3) or Deimos — Formido (Rotation A ~14.3% for 3) — but caches are end-of-mission rewards, so only the Steel Path drop-chance booster affects those, not resource boosters.

Early game

Steel Path Deimos scales the same farm: denser, tankier Infested drop more samples per minute, and the Steel Path Resource Drop Chance Booster stacks on the in-mission pickups. Terrorem (Survival) or Cambion Drift on Steel Path is the highest sustained throughput.
When you’d rather bank guaranteed caches, the Eris Sabotage cache nodes — Naeglar, Candiru, Lepis, Psoro, Viver (Rotation B, ~15.5% for 3) — and Formido on Deimos (Rotation A, ~14.3% for 3) each hand out a cache per run. Caches are reward-table rolls, so only the Steel Path drop-chance booster affects them, not resource boosters — squad size (each player’s own cache roll) is what multiplies them.
